Do you want to feel more alive and present in your life, but continue to struggle with the confusing aftermath of complex trauma or unresolved grief?

Maybe you long to have it “all together,” but you feel plagued with paralyzing anxiety and self doubt? This can feel really heavy. You don’t have to carry it alone. Has paralyzing anxiety prevented you from living the life you want for yourself? Do you feel like, no matter what you do, you still feel like you are never enough? Are past traumas negatively impacting your daily functioning? Is complex grief holding you back from authentic, lasting healing?

If you are looking for a means to reduce your feelings of anxiety, address unresolved grief, process trauma or work on self-image then this is the perfect place to start.

My background & approach

As a therapist, my passion lies in helping you navigate the complexities of trauma, grief and anxiety so you can reclaim a sense of emotional safety, build resilience, and regain self-assurance.  I strive to create a compassionate and supportive space where you will feel truly heard and understood.  You can start to really reclaim and embrace your life feeling empowered in your journey and proud of who you are committed to becoming. Every person’s journey is truly unique, and I will walk alongside you with empathy and respect, guiding you toward lasting change and a more peaceful, fulfilling life built on authenticity and alignment.

My holistic, person-centered, and process driven approach is rooted in a deep respect for your unique journey and individual needs.  I believe that establishing and maintaining a healthy, therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of good therapy.  I love building connections with my clients in a really meaningful way.  My clients often describe me as empathetic, attentive, non-judgmental, respectful, warm, authentic and open-minded.  I have a great sense of humor and even though the work we will do together can be challenging at times, I can guarantee that we will also have some laughs along the way as well. I will connect really well with you if you are interested and committed to your personal development and invested in positive change. I will meet you where you are at at this point in your life.  You are entrusting me with the very important task of walking together on this journey, and I never take that trust for granted. Growth and change are hard; I cannot promise you that it will be easy, but it will be worth it.

As a trained trauma-focused therapist my goal is to create a safe space for you to explore and process your emotions.  I take a holistic approach to therapy that is resiliency focused, using validation and somatic practices in a way that is culturally sensitive and tailored to your unique therapeutic goals.  While well versed in all treatment modalities, I have found a real connection with EMDR; a highly effective, evidence-based therapy that helps individuals just like you process and heal from traumatic experiences, grief, anxiety and so much more.

One of the key benefits of EMDR is that it allows your brain to reprocess distressing memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge, making these memories, thoughts and emotions feel more distant, manageable, or less triggering.  EMDR leads to a speedier relief from the symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, and other trauma-related issues by targeting the root of your pain rather than just simply managing your symptoms.  After EMDR, people often report experiencing a greater sense of emotional freedom, improved self-esteem, and an increased ability to handle stress.  As a trained EMDR therapist, I have been honored to be able to witness real and lasting growth and transformation in my clients.  I want that for you too.

I am a licensed social worker with advanced training in grief, trauma and EMDR.  I earned my Bachelor's degree in History & Psychology,  have a MA in Education and an MA in Educational Leadership.  I received my Master’s in Social Work from Rutgers University.  Professionally, I have worked in family therapy, crisis work, school social work and with individuals with severe and pervasive mental illness.
